When I snapped this shot, I imagined that these boats are waiting for summer. They love their summer job, working on a Kenai Peninsula beach site, helping to net salmon and rocking and rolling in and out with the tides. They love the midnight sun, the long hours, and the feeling of being needed to help somebody earn their living fishing.
But for now, they sit covered in snow, gazing longingly out at the Cook Inlet, waiting for summer.
