Sure got to see a gorgeous sunset the other night at our favorite beach. We just got lucky, and stopped in for a few minutes. Not planning to stay long..just thinking we would let the girls dig their toes in the sand a minute.
It was breathtaking! The sun was doing a dance and waving goodbye quite slowly. The eagles were standing along the creek that heads out to the inlet. The tide was way out, and they were hopping around waiting for salmon to basically swim right into their open beaks. And here is the funny part...they were already too full to eat any more! So they just kind of hopped around and watched the splashing fins go right on by. (watch video at end)
The sky was a vivid orange and pink, and the big boulders on the beach got rapidly darker and darker. Gulls flew back and forth. There was not another soul around. Just us. We held hands and watched our girls, and talked about the end of summer and the beginning of fall.
Evenings might get better than this, but I don't know where. I'm a lucky girl.
