Well, bears anyway. And moose too. Had to get your attention..ha ha. We were driving back from Anchorage after taking Grandma Pat to the airport, and we had some time on our hands. We never have time on our hands, on the drive home. Never. So it seemed a perfect time to stop by the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.
Pretty scenery on the way!
This is such a neat place to take kids. You can drive or walk around the mile and a half loop. The girls wanted to walk most of the way.
It was awesome! This cool bull moose was just chillin. He was a majestic sight.
We saw these brown bears, and got to watch them do tricks! (Watch video at the end, where the ranger tells the bear to stand up and shake his booty) She was throwing him pieces of sausage.
This sow was so cute. I got a kick out of the Magpie sitting on the log beside her.
The big guy!
More critters...
Watching the deer. They were so curious, and wanted to get real close to the girls!
Okay, watch the next contestant for the show, So You Think You Can Dance.

I never even THOUGHT about wanting to live in Alaska - until I found your blog! I am amazed at the astonishing amount of beautiful things in your state for you to take pictures of, loved the animal pics! And, woot woot, I'm your first follower! Yay me! :-)
I love your photos!DH and DS would, too! I even got to watch the video at the end, cause it was short, for my dial up! Thanks for sharing!

My older girls have visited the Conservation Center on field trips, but I've never been there myself. Your pictures make me realize I need to go check it out!
Mom,
please promise me next time you see a bear that close you'll do more than take a picture!
love,
