Around here, you get through winter however you can. And its not uncommon to be uncommon. LOL. That is, you may surround yourself with house plants, large aquariums, or in extreme cases you may pull the shades and hibernate until spring with only Netflix as an outside visitor.
Or, you can do as we did and get yourself a little buddy called Nyokki.
He came to us rather bald, but we loved him anyway. And through our love and affection, and THIS
He began to grow both heart and hair.
And soon, he looked like THIS
(and that's when we had to tell Daddy NO...you cannot give him a haircut, no matter how amusing it might be for you, its just not time yet.)
Its great to have a little lawn to look at each morning. He grew so fast, we have no bald pictures but when you look at THIS FACE
it seems to be pleading to us to let it grow, let it grow, let it grow.
We all know a mohawk is most likely in his future. And Daddy says he is going to give him a midnight trim and feed the bunnies. We hope he is joking!
We will keep you posted. Ribbbit.

LOL!!! I know what you mean about the winter. Though we're not quite as intense as you. I have now lived in two cities that have such deep winters, they throw Winter Carnivals: Lake Placid, NY and St Paul, MN. I'm usually too much of a sub zero cold wimp that we don't go out for the one here. Maybe this year now that the kids are older.
That is so cute! I'd be dying to give him a haircut too! :-D
Oh how fun! He reminds me of a Chia pet! :-) Loved your great sledding pictures too!!!! Oh and the ice cream story...the joys of parenthood are many!!! :-)
Oh my gosh that is so cute! how funny!!! Where did you get it?
That almost looks like a bottle of Windex, but I'm assuming it's water, right? My daughter wants a little pet for Christmas--goldfish, hamster, guinea pig--but I'm thinking this little frog would be perfect ; )
Hee hee, yes he is the perfect pet, kim!
The brand is Nyokki and we got him from a homeschool catalog called Rainbow Resource. They have a website. There is also a duck, I think. My girls want that one too! But we are real frog nuts around here.

He is so cute! I remembering seeing a project on Noggin where they took half an egg shell and decorated it and put some cotton balls and wet them down and then sprinkled some herb seeds in there. In a short time, you have herbs for dinner!
Oh my gosh! I can't believe you have this! When I worked at HD, one of our managers was bald and had a head shaped oddly enough like that little Nyokki thing! So, they bought one for him, and somehow it became my job to "take care" of the little guy! When I saw yours, I was shocked! (I used to put "his" hair in a little rubberband when it got long.) Then I went on vacation and they forgot to water it...and sadly, no more Nyokki. :(
